PANJIM: The government on Thursday appointed Dr Shivanand Bandekar as Medical Superintendent (MS) of Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) with immediate effect.
Dr Bandekar, who is the Head of Department of Orthopedics, will hold charge as MS in addition to his duties, thereby relieving Dr Savio Rodrigues, Head of Dept of Microbiology.
In another order, government appointed Dr M V Mallya currently Associate Professor in Pathology as Head of Dept of the proposed Transfusion Medicine and Immunohematology.
The government also appointed retired Director of Health Services, Dr Rajnanda Desai, as Under Secretary on co-terminus basis.
