PANJIM: The draft electoral rolls in respect of all the parliamentary and assembly constituencies, relating to the special summary revision of electoral rolls with references to January 1, 2015 as the qualifying date, will be published on October 15.
The period for filing of claims and objections is from October 15 to November 10. Reading of relevant part/section of photo electoral rolls in gram sabha, local bodies and RWA meetings and verification of names is from October 17 to 30. Special campaign dates with booth level agents of political parties for receiving claims and objections is from October 19 to November 2.
Disposal of claims and objections shall be by November 20, and updating the database, merging of photographs, updating control tables and preparation and printing of Supplementary list by December 20, and final publication of Electoral Rills is on January 5, 2015.
The Public in general and the Political Parties in particular are therefore requested to scrutinize the said Draft Electoral Rolls and to take steps to get names included or corrected, for which the time limit is upto November 10, 2014.
The electoral rolls will be available for scrutiny for the public from October 15 to November 10, at respective polling stations where last election for Parliamentary Constituencies and Assembly Constituencies were held.
The Electoral Rolls are also available for scrutiny in the Offices of the deputy collectors and electoral registration offices of Pernem, Bicholim, Mapusa, Panjim, Ponda, Margao, Vaso, Quepem, Dharbandora and Canacona.
All citizens who are entitled to be included in the electoral rolls may scrutinize the draft electoral Rolls and in case their name do not figure in the draft electoral rolls and those who may have attained the age of 18 years may get their names included in the electoral rolls.
