MARGAO: Fearing that the work pertaining to the mobile tower will damaged the playing ground, and it will create an impact of the radiation, villagers of Dramapur strongly opposed the mobile network tower in the residential vicinity, as a public meeting was held on Sunday, in the village.
Villagers have also made their stand clear that they are not against the mobile network tower, but they will not allow the same in the densely populated residential area.
The Comunidade of Dramapur-Sirlim have even shown the willingness to help the concerned company with a new location in the village, but they want public consent before going ahead with the installation of the tower.
Local MLA Cruz Silva, too attended the meeting and declared his support to the villagers.
Speaking at the meeting, Franciso Dias, president of Dramapur-Sirlim Comunidade said, “At the time of carrying out the work of erecting the mobile network tower there are more possibilities of damaging the playing ground, which has been developed after a long legal battle of 50 years.”
The local MLA assured his support to the villagers in shifting the mobile network tower to some other location.
“I will follow up the matter with the concerned authority and will also help in identifying a new location,” he stated.
