MARGAO: The Dramapur-Sirlim gram sabha has unanimously passed a resolution to bring back a sewerage-line laying project. The sewerage project was a major topic at the meeting, which was attended by Velim MLA Benjamin Silva. The villagers opined that the sewerage line should be connected to the Navelim sewerage project.
On this note and other development issues, Silva assured to follow up the matter. He explained that the issue of overhead electricity lines would be resolved in the upcoming months and pointed out that all the lines are to be replaced by the electricity department. The work has been tendered, but there are no takers so far, he added.
He also explained why the electricity department was taking up the work and the process involved.
The disputed boundary between the Dramapur-Sirlim panchayat and Chinchinim panchayat was also discussed.
The gram sabha decided to write to the Chinchinim panchayat asking it not to entertain files pertaining to the disputed boundary issue.
