PANJIM: Drishti, which is currently providing beach safety services through Surf Life Saving Goa has come down strongly on the government’s delay in replacement of life saving equipment even after assurances were given to the agency recently.
A senior management level official said, Drishti has been seeking replacement of equipment essential for lifesaving activities since January 2011.
“But the bureaucratic governmental process has ground the replacement efforts to a halt and the lifesaving service is now managing with more than half of its equipment which is below its own laid down standards,” said this official.
