PANJIM: Drishti Lifesaving Services has filed a civil suit against Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) President Girish Chodankar for alleging scam in the beach cleaning contract awarded to the firm.
In the suit, sources told Herald, Drishti has said that they were working at almost 40 per cent lesser costs than previous contractors and despite working for more than two years no escalation was given to Drishti.
All allegations made during the press conference have strongly been refuted by Drishti in the defamation notice against Chodankar.
At a press conference held in August, Chodankar had alleged that Tourism Minister Manohar Ajgaonkar was involved in corruption in awarding the contract to the firm that also provides lifeguards service along the beach belt of Goa. Congress had also sought a CBI probe, failing which; the party had then said it would approach the High Court.
