Drishti team saves 7 from drowning

Seven persons were saved from drowning by Drishti Surf Life Team in separate incidents at Calangute, Candolim and Baga beaches. 
In the first incident, Nilesh Khatale (26) of Nashik was swimming in the no-swim zone at Baga beach, when he was heard shouting for help. Lifeguard Shekar Gawas who was patrolling the area on the Jet Ski immediately rushed to his rescue and brought him to the shores safety.
In another incident, Syed of Hyderabad and Kunal of Mumbai, who were initially swimming in the safe zone at Calangute beach, began drifting outside the safe zone and continued swimming in the area despite warning by the Life Guards. 
The lifeguard posted at the northern end of the swim zone observed Syed and Kunal in trouble and jumped straight into the rip after calling for a backup.
Lifeguard Sachin grabbed hold of Kunal while another Lifeguard Ramkrishna followed for help. The Jet Ski arrived and operator Ganesh Pednekar picked up Syed who had drifted to an approximate distance of 50mtrs from the shore. Both were safely brought out.
Kunal was examined and found to be normal but Syed experienced acute difficulty in breathing. Syed confirmed that he was feeling dizzy and was constantly vomiting.  Syed was put up on oxygen therapy and transferred to Candolim PHC in the lifeguard Jeep as the 108 Ambulance was not available.
In the third incident, Kavita Varma (42) was swimming at Candolim Beach and got caught in one such receding current and drifted to the beach. She panicked and called for help after which the lifeguard posted at the point rushed for her aid.
Later, three youth, Jashan Arora (24), Ravin Patel, (24) and Swapnil Kuber (24) of Mira Road in Bhayander-Mumbai were swimming with lifejackets at Baga beach when they began struggling in the sea and called for help. 
Lifeguard Pratin Gaonkar called for a Jet Ski backup and swam across with a rescue tube. By the time, the lifeguard secured one of the youth, the Jet Ski reached the spot and secured the remaining two and dropped them to the shore one by one.
