BICHOLIM: Bicholim police has booked offense against driver of the Maharashtra based vehicle for illegally transportation of two cattle near railway crossing gate Shirgao Bicholim Fridaymorning. According to the police, a complaint in this connection has been lodged by Mayem Goshala Chief Kamlakant Tari at Bicholim Police Station.
Tari in his complaint stated that while he had stooped his vehicles near railway crossing gate at Shirgao, Bicholim when he had gone for some work at about 7.45 am he saw a four-wheeler bearing number MH-07-P-2624 parked for crossing that was not having number plate on the backside and the backside of the four-wheeler covering with tarpaulin. Suspecting a foul play he got down from his vehicle and started inquiring with the driver, however, at this juncture one more person seated to the left side of the driver open the door and fled away from the scene.
On getting confirmed about some kind of crime Tari opened the tarpaulin cover and was shocked to see two cows tied inside it.
On not finding receipt, a doctor certificate, licence, identity card with the driver identified to be Pramod Manjrekar, resident of Banda-Maharashtra, he contacted Bicholim police.
On getting informed, police rushed to the spot and took the vehicle into custody along with the cows.
