PONDA: The car driver, who was involved in an accident with a bike at Usgao on March 29 evening, succumbed to his injuries at the GMC Babolim late on Tuesday night.
It may be recalled that six persons, including a six-month-old child, were injured in a major accident last month when the car, driven by Akash Vagekar, hit an electric pole and overturned after it dashed against a bike.
Twenty-two-year-old Vagekar had sustained serious injuries and was lifted to the GMC Hospital. Despite treatment Vagekar could not recover from his serious injuries and breathed his last late Tuesday night.
According to sources both the bike and the car were badly damaged in the accident with all the occupants of the car suffering injuries. While others were discharged after receiving treatment, Vagekar was kept for observation but succumbed to his injuries.
