In a shocking incident in Mumbai, a couple addicted to drugs allegedly sold their one-month-old daughter for Rs 14,000 and their two-year-old son for Rs 60,000 to fund their drug habit. The Mumbai Crime Branch arrested the parents, Shabbir and Sania Khan, along with Shakeel Makrani. A search is underway for the two-year-old son. Usha Rathod, an alleged agent involved in the sale, was also detained. The couple’s addiction to drugs led them to sell their children, and the case came to light when the family discovered the incident. The accused couple sold their son to an unidentified person for Rs 60,000 and their infant daughter to Shakeel Makrani for Rs 14,000.
Shabbir and Sania, both drug addicts, could not sustain their habit without funds. Usha Rathod facilitated the sale, connecting with the couple. Rubina Khan, Shabbir’s sister, reported the incident to the police upon learning about it and filed a complaint against her brother and sister-in-law at DN Nagar police station. DN Nagar police registered a case and handed the investigation over to the crime branch
