PANJIM: Police arrested a Rajasthani native and another Chimbel resident and recovered opium and ganja from their possession on Wednesday.
Police stated that the Hetaram Hajariram Saran, 26
was intercepted and arrested near the Ambika Super market in Pilar and 194.08 grams of opium worth Rs 1.10 lakh was recovered from his possession.
The accused has been booked under section 17(b) of the NDPS Act and further investigations are being conducted by the Agasaim police.
Meanwhile, the Old Goa Police arrested Kumar Swami, 22, and a resident of Chimbel, Shirent for possessing 84 grams of ganja worth Rs 84,000. He has been booked under section 20 (b) (II) (A) of NDPS Act and further investigations are in progress.
