PANJIM: A cocktail of drugs valued at Rs 1.16 cr approx has been seized till June 21. Information released by Goa Police ahead of International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, said that large quantities of drugs have been seized during multiple raids conducted by Anti Narcotics Cell, Crime Branch, District Police of North and South Goa.

The Narcotics cell arrested 55 peddlers that include seven foreign nationals. The 48.33 kg drugs seized from January to June 21, 2021 is worth Rs 1,16,32,100. Approximately, Rs 59.03 lakh worth of drugs has been seized by ANC and North Goa District Police seized worth nearly Rs 31.74 lakh.
The last calendar year recorded seizure of a whopping Rs 7.08 crore worth of drugs while 172 persons – 136 Indians and 36 foreigners were arrested.
