Bicholim: Bicholim police carried out a raid in a drug related matter late night on Wednesday. In this, they seized ganja weighing 803 grams worth 1, 60,600 from Sanquelim town.
The accused, Balvir Vishram Chavhan, aged 36, temporarily resides at Sanquelim town and is a native of Uttar Pradesh.
According to the police, the raid was conducted by the police team led by Bicholim Police Inspector (PI) Mahesh Gadekar, Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) Prajit Mandrekar and others under the guidance of Deputy Superintendent (DYSP) of Police Gurudas Gawade. The team rushed to the spot and caught the accused red handed in possession of the drugs. The accused who has been remanded to five days of police custody on Thursday by JMFC Bicholim has been arrested under section 20(b) (ii) (A) NDPS act 1985.
