MAPUSA: The Anjuna police seized ketamine and charas worth Rs 25 lakh from a house in Chaudi Vaddo in Marna-Siolim and arrested a native of Gujarat allegedly involved in the crime.
The police raided his house last evening and seized 475 Ketamine vials weighing around 4.7 litres along with 270 grams of charas hidden at his residence.
The accused has been identified as Jayrajsingh Kiritsinh Chavda from Ahmedabad, Gujarat.
An offence under Section 22 (b) 20(b) (ii) (b) of NDPS Act has been registered against the accused.
The raiding team consisted of LPSI Sneha Sawal, PC Ramdas Harmalkar, Arjun Sawant, Sakharam Salgaonkar and PSI Sahil Warang.
SP North Nidhin Valsan, IPS, informed that this is the biggest seizure of drugs this year.
Further investigation is in progress with PI Prashal Dessai under the supervision of SDPO Mapusa Jivba Dalvi.
