PANJIM: Drishti Marine on Friday launched the #TeraMeraBeach campaign that was kicked off with a large number of tourists and visitors drumming to rhythmic beats at Baga beach.
Starting this month, daily drum circles and community art will be organised every evening between 4.30 pm and 5.30 pm on the coast in an effort to create awareness on keeping the beaches clean and educate people about the importance of waste segregation. The campaign was inaugurated by Deputy Speaker Michael Lobo. Through #TeraMeraBeach, Drishti Marine in association with Taal Inc will educate visitors on waste generation and waste management.
Lobosaid, “We reached out to Drishti to manage the waste on Goa’s beaches.”
and they have done a good job. Now they have gone a step further and organised 150-day campaign #TeraMeraBeach to educate people on waste management.”
Drishti Marine CEO Ravi Shangai said that eventually the campaign will cover Baga, Calangute, Candolim, Miramar and Colva beaches.
Goa Tourism also extended support to #TeraMeraBeach campaign. Tourism Director Menino D’Souza said, “Goa Tourism supports the #TeraMeraBeach campaign which will serve as a good platform to create awareness about cleanliness and hygiene on the beaches of Goa.”
