PANJIM: The Directorate of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (DSDE) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Goa Institute of Management (GIM) for capacity building training.
A programme for capacity building training of principals, group instructors, vocational instructors and non-teaching staff of all Government Industrial Institutes (ITIs) was held recently, where DSDE Minister Vishwajit Rane, DSDE Secretary C R Garg, DSDE Director Dipak Desai and GIM Director Dr Ajit Parulekar were present for the inauguration.
The training is being held till the completion of training for all batches. 40 individuals per batch will be trained to understand the intra and interpersonal relationship by effectively balancing task and people orientation in the professional space.
Rane praised the initiative and said it will help to up-skill and modernise trainers as per not just the demand of the industry but of the whole eco-system.
“With the changing times, digitisation has taken centre stage. Our department has been continuously analysing where we can improvise in terms of both the students and our trainers,” Rane said.
Garg, emphasised the role of the government to enhance skill development and employability of youth in and around Goa. “This vision will help us make them an asset to the industry,” he said.
“A training programme must add value to each and every person. Therefore, a curated programme was brought to focus,” Dr Parulekar added.
A committee will be formed to meet monthly to review and monitor the progress, address any issues observed, and prepare the curriculum.
