Bicholim Mamlatdar Pramod Bhat on Monday visited the site of Sesa Goa at Lamgao-Bicholim, where heaps of dumped ore developed cracks, endangering the lives of the villagers.
Mamlatdar’s visit was planned in the wake of report that appeared in section of media about the rising danger of the dumped iron ores at the hilly area of Lamgao. Local Councilor Manohar Shirodkar had raised an alarm in this connection.
Environmental Assistant Manager Dr Govind Parab and Mines Manager B K Prushti, who were accompanying Mamlatdar Bhat, made it clear that the company has taken due precaution while dumping the iron ore and there is no danger as predicted by the villagers.
Mamlatdar has advised the company officials to take additional precautions to safeguard the village.
