VASCO: Vasco police arrested a person and his son-in-law on Tuesday in connection with a recent incident of tampering with the religious banners opposite the Goa Shipyard Ltd Vasco. The duo — Joseph Fernandes, alias Deevod, along with his son-in-law Angelo — were apprehended in Curchorem at 2.30 pm and brought to the Vasco Police Station.
Vasco PSI Diago Gracias said the police have registered an offence against the duo under Section 295 (A), 143, 504, 506 (ii) for tampering with the religious banners thereby hurting religious sentiments of the people of a particular community.
