In a tragic incident, two persons from Talekhol-Dodamarg died when a scooter and tourist bus collided with each other near the ice factory at Ribandar on Monday at about 8.15 am.
According to Old Goa Police, the accident occurred when scooter rider Pritam Gawas (22) and pillion rider Shivaji Arjun Gawas (28) were proceeding on their Honda Activa scooter (GA-01-T-9268) from Old Goa towards Panjim.
On reaching Ribandar, the tourist bus (GA-04-T-4546), which was proceeding from the opposite direction, rammed against the scooter. Pritam died on the spot, while Shivaji died on the way to the hospital.
The bus driver fled from the site.
Old Goa Police have registered a case against the bus driver under Section 279, 304(A) IPC, 134(A)(B) under MV Act and are investigating the case.
