PONDA: In a hit-and-run accident case that occured at Bythokhol, Borim, two youth from Veling-Priol, who were travelling on a scooter, were seriously injured after a car dashed their vehicle at Bythokhol, Borim. The driver of the car then fled the accident site alongwith his vehicle.
The Ponda Police said the injured persons identified as Jayesh Gaude, 19 and Vishal Gaude, 22 were admitted to GMC.

The youth were proceeding towards Ponda from Shiroda, while the car was coming from the opposite direction and was proceeding from Ponda to Margao. Ponda police have registered an offence under Section 134 of the Motor Vehicles Act and Section 279 of IPC. The police are trying to nab the accused car driver by searching CCTV footage from along the route.
