VALPOI: Deputy Chief Minister Francis D’Souza on Tuesday morning paid a surprise visit to the mamlatdar’s office at Valpoi and heard the grievances of the people.
D’Souza later visited Valpoi market complex and also heard the grievances of shopkeepers. He then visited the Administrative building, which is under construction, to review the work.
Speaking to media, D’Souza said he had received a lot of complains from Sattari people stating that their work at mamlatdar office is done at a snail’s pace and public have to visit again and again to get their simple work done like obtaining residential certificate.
He said he has observed irregularities of the staff at the mamlatdar office and assured the public that the matter will be resolved soon. He has also had a discussion with VMC Chief Ramdas Shirodkar, all the councillors and Chief Officer Amir Parab.
