VASCO: Mormugao Deputy Collector has decided to write to the SDPO Mormugao to investigate and take cognisance of the matter related to the fuel pilferage in Zuarinagar area.
Deputy Collector Paresh Faldessai told Herald that it is a duty of the police to keep tab on such activities.
He said that he would write to the Mormugao SDPO to take cognisance of the matter and investigate whether fuel pilferage and siphoning is taking place in Zuarinagar area.
All Goa Petrol Dealers Association President Paresh Joshi said, “The State Level Coordinator is suppose to handle such problem of fuel siphoning.”
“As per the oil marketing companies’ regulations and the dealership agreement, the oil company is responsible for the quality and quantity in transit till the delivery is taken by the dealer,” Joshi said.
He said that if the issue taken up before the Union ministry of petroleum, then, the fuel pilferage can be stopped immediately.
