Dy Collectors, SDM to accord permission

PANJIM: Goa government has authorised Deputy Collectors and Sub District Magistrates (SDM) of North and South Goa Districts as competent authorities to accord permission for the second dose of Covishield vaccine after a gap of 20 days of the first dose to those intending to travel abroad for further studies or employment or sports. 

The Union government has permitted States to reduce the time period between the first and the second dose of vaccine from 84 days to 20 days for those intending to undertake international travel for education purpose, for joining employment in foreign countries and sportspersons.

The State government said the second dose  will be administered prior to the prescribed time travel – after 20 days but before 84 days to persons falling in this category including India’s contingent to Tokyo Olympics. 

The government had authorised District Collectors to designate required number of officers as competent authority for according permission for the purpose. Accordingly, the order was issued by North Goa Collector Ajit Roy designating Deputy Collector and SDM of respective jurisdiction for permitting administration of second dose of Covishield.
