PANJIM: Deputy Chief Minister Chandrakant `Babu’ Kavlekar assured to provide all necessary aid to the primary health centres (PHCs) in the Quepem taluka — be it salaries to data entry operators, if required so that there is no break in the services provided to citizens especially for COVID-19 related works.
Kavlekar made this assurance while reviewing the preparedness of Quepem against COVID-19 at a meeting with Deputy Collector, Mamlatdar, BDO, Quepem Municipal Council chief officer, health officers, police, sanitary inspectors and newly elected councillors of Quepem Municipal Council at Quepem on Saturday.
The health officers of Balli PHC Dr Tulsimamta Kakodkar and Quepem PHC Dr Lorna Fernandes explained their difficulties in implementing COVID-19 protocols effectively, to which the Deputy Chief Minister called up the Director of Health Services for an immediate resolution.
Kavlekar urged upon the people of Quepem to follow the COVID-19 protocol and appealed to them not to venture out unnecessarily. Though the shops and establishments are open, he requested people not to unnecessarily crowd and endanger the lives of others.
Quepem Deputy Collector Nilesh Dhaigodkar; Mamlatdar Laxmikant Desai; chief officer Madhu Narvekar; Quepem PI Deepak Pednekar; councillors Filu D’Costa, Suchita Shirvoikar, Deepali Naik, Amol Kanekar and William Rodrigues were present.
