DySP: Parents should keep young generation away from addiction

Says substance seized from GMC sent for testing; Reports not yet received from Verna

PANJIM: Deputy Superintendent of Police Sudesh Naik on Monday said that parental control is the key factor required to keep young generation away from the addictive substance.

Informing about the suspected addictive substance seized from washroom of the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim a month ago, he said that the substance has been sent for testing at Forensic Science Laboratory, Verna and that the police are yet to receive the test reports.

Naik said the police have probed inquiry into the matter upon receiving a complaint from the dean about the suspected ganja being found in one corner of the common toilet of GMC boy’s hostel.

Speaking about the brutal assault case that has occurred in the same hostel more than a month ago wherein an undergraduate student of GMC was brutally assaulted by four of his companion, DySP said it was a bailable offence and police is yet to file a charge sheet for the same.
