PANJIM: The second round of e-auction of iron ore will be held on March 5, after the successful conduct of the first e-auction. At the second e-auction around 15.54 lakh tons ore will go under the hammer. The state government had raised Rs 94 crore in the first e-auction by selling 5.36 lakh tons of iron ore on February 17.
These auctions are being conducted according to the
Supreme Court order, under the supervision of the monitoring committee.
In the first e-auction 60 stacks were auctioned and bidders included Fomento, Durga mines, Sesa Goa, Chowgule and Panduranga Timblo Industries. Domestic steel mills JSW, Jindal, Ispat, Mohit Steel, Bharti Steel and some other bidders, some together 14 of them had stayed away from the e-auction. However, some are likely to take part in the second e-auction.
