CANACONA: Around 1300 students from Stds 6 and 7 in Canacona taluka received e-tablets from the State government in four different programmes under the cyber-age scheme.
The e-tablets were distributed to the different school students of Canacona by Infotech Corporation of Goa Chairman Subhash Phaldessai, Canacona MLA and Sports Minister Ramesh Tawadkar, Zilla Panchayat members Daya Pagi (Poinguinim) and Krishna Velip (Khola).
About 191 e-tablests were distributed to school students of St Anne’s Institute, Agonda (129), Gurukul Education Society (45), Khola and Govt High School, Agonda (17) in a function held at St Anne’s school hall, Agonda, on Friday.
A similar programme was held on the same day to distribute 561 e-tablets to Shri Katyayani Baneshwar Vid, Kindlem (161), Govt Middle School, Palolem (18), Govt Middle School, Patnem (9), St Thereza of Jesus H/S, Chaudi (155), Shri Mallikarjun Vidyalaya, Char-Rasta (122), Jawahar Vidyakaya, Mastimoll (49), and Govt High School, Shristhal (47).
On Saturday, 225 etablets were handed over to students of Tudal H/S, Tudalk (82), Govt High School, Gaodongrim (39), Shree Balram Residential H/S, Poinguinim (95) and Govt Middle School, Amone (9).
In the afternoon, 281 e-tablets were distributed to Govt H/S, Sadolxem (36), Shri Shradhanand Vidhyalay, Poinguinim (98), Shri Nirakar Vidyala, Maxem ((84) and St Anthony H/S, Galgibaga (63).
