‘Earning while learning’ Scheme to be launched for students from April

PANJIM: The State government will launch ‘Shikwa Ani Kamwa’ Scheme (earning while learning) in April this year, informed Chief Minister Pramod Sawant during his interaction with special appreciation awardee taluka nodal officers and Swayampurna Mitras in virtual mode on Saturday.

“In addition to sun, sand and sea my government also wants to promote skilling,” he said adding that students will be imparted skilling education while they are pursuing any regular course. This will ensure that students master the skills need to employment. Youth must look beyond government jobs and focus on skilling and upskilling.

Sawant said that when the government is working on Mission mode, skilling will be the focus point and the students while graduating can learn skilling courses. The details of the new ‘Shikwa Ani Kamwa’ concept will be informed to Swayampurna Mitras soon.

The Chief Minister said that India will host G20 Summit in April this year and eight high-level meetings are scheduled in Goa. It is an opportunity for Goans to showcase their skills of handicrafts articles as gift items for guests visiting the State along with millet and other agricultural products.

Some of the special appreciation awardee taluka nodal officers Levinson Martins and Ramesh Gaonkar and Swayampurna Mitras shared their experiences. Earlier, Additional Director of Panchayats Sangeeta Naik welcomed all including the panchayat members from different village panchayats.
