Eastern bypass: Damu serves ultimatum
MARGAO, NOV 29 (HR) –– Fatorda MLA Damu Naik has served an ultimatum on the authorities to repair the Eastern bypass road with a hot mix before the month of March to avoid further consequences.
Demanding that work on the bypass be expedited, the MLA said the condition of the road has deteriorated due to plying of heavy vehicles on the road.
“We had twice inspected the road and issued directions to the PWD for shifting of the pipeline, construction of gutters parallel to the road, maintain the width, erecting of road dividers etc, but in vain”, Naik said, adding that the pathetic condition of the road should be taken care of to make road motorable once again.
