The Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Goa has resulted in the deletion of 1,27,468 names from the electoral rolls. After this revision, the total number of voters now stands at 10,57,566, including 5,11,436 men, 5,46,121 women, and nine third-gender voters.
Chief Electoral Officer Sanjay Goyal said objections to deletions can be filed within 15 days at the District Electoral Officers’ office, with further appeals allowed within 30 days. Among the deletions, 420 Portuguese passport holders were removed from the rolls after verification. Data shows 16,721 Goans had acquired Portuguese passports, and those found ineligible have been struck off.
