EC notices to me unwarranted, strengthens my resolve to work for Mapusa: Mhambre

PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Goa convenor Rahul Mhambre on Thursday said that the show cause notices I have received at the behest of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government and Mapusa MLA Joshua D’Souza are unwarranted and only encourage me to work harder for Mapusa.

Mhambre also challenged Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and D’souza to use all the government machineries like ED, CBI and IT against him and said but that won’t deter him from working hard for Mapusa.

Mhambre has been served show cause notices for violating the EC guidelines by holding a blood donation camp and felicitating Safai Mitras on the occasion of his birthday.

Mhambre said, “Since I organised a blood donation camp and a felicitation ceremony for Safai Mitras on my birthday on January 3, and the code of conduct is implemented by EC on January 8, it is not justified to issue show cause notices.”

“On inquiry, the officials informed our team that they would serve me yet another show cause notice for visiting Mapusa Bodgeshwar temple jatra”.

Mhambre claimed that the BJP government has a habit of serving notices. He said, “ye dar acha laga, Joshua”. However, such notices will not thwart efforts to improve Mapusa”.

He said, “AAP has completed its first round of door-to-door campaigning in Mapusa and have been reaching out to Mapusekars with Kejriwal’s six promises. We will soon bring a manifesto that is specifically created for Mapusa and for Mapusekars.”
