VALPOI: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar has stated that 109 villages in the State are likely to be affected once the eco-sensitive zone is set in place, as the Central government has already issued a notification as per the report of the Gadgil Committee.
Parrikar was addressing a BJP Booth Melava at Valpoi on Thursday evening.
Speaking further, Parrikar recalled that a few years back, the Congress government had notified the Mhadei Abhiyaran (Wildlife Sanctuary), where maximum villages in Sattari were affected.
“The eco-sensitive zone has restricted human beings for pursuing developmental activities, including the construction of even a small house. A common man, who wishes to build a house under wildlife sanctuary zone and eco sensitive zone, now has to get permission from the Central government,” remarked Parrikar.
“The BJP government is ruling in Goa will oppose this notification,” he said.
Parrikar advised the BJP workers to ensure that the BJP leads in all 46 booths in Valpoi constituency by keeping a target of at least 14,000 votes. “Shripad Naik is a clean and non-corrupt politician, who made a hat-trick by winning from North Goa parliamentary constituency,” added Parrikar.
“I’m confident that this time too he will win with thumping majority and will support Narendra Modi to become prime minister for the welfare of the nation, thereby eradicating corrupt Congress government who ruled for 60 years since after independence.”
“Since this is the cashew season, many farmers are busy in their activities. But to save the nation, please come out in large numbers to vote for BJP for Parivartan,” appealed Parrikar.
Shripad Naik appealed that people in Sattari should come out in large number to vote for BJP to eradicate corruption, solve unemployment problem and to see Narendra Modi as Prime Minister for the welfare of the country.
Art and Culture Minister Dayanand Mandrekar, Sanquelim MLA Dr Pramod Sawant, BJP State Secretary Sadanand Tanawade, Vishwajit K Rane, Satyavijay Naik, Narhari Haldankar and Demu Gaonkar also spoke on the occasion.
