BICHOLIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant on Sunday said the EDC has inspected the comunidade land in Velgaum in Bicholim and has expressed its willingness to develop the land for industrial zone.
He was speaking at Velgaum after welcoming ex-sarpanch Dinesh Sahastrabuddhe and panch Mahesh Gawande into the party.
Sawant said that he is aware of the current situation in the State.
“In Velgaum we have tried to solve many issues. We have already started PHC in the village and in days to come it will be further upgraded. The comunidade has donated land to the government and we have already laid the foundation stone. Besides this, bandhara, panchayat ghar and other such works have been completed in the village,” the CM informed.
“We expect that an industry should come up on comunidade land at Velgaum which is a lengthy process. The first step towards this has been completed as the EDC has inspected the site and has expressed its willingness to develop the land for industrial zone,” Sawant added.
“Our attempt would be to get an industrial unit in the village in next one year. The mining issue would be resolved at the same time the issue of unemployment in the village would be taken into consideration,” he said adding that BJP is a party of the common man and also cited several examples to support it.
