Edu dept to transfer money for uniforms, raincoats to parents

PANJIM: From the current academic year onwards, the Education department will transfer money required for stitching the uniforms and purchase of raincoats directly to the parents/guardians account under its free supply of School Uniforms-Raincoats scheme for the students of Class I and III.

The decision has been taken in order to streamline the process of procurement and supply of uniforms and raincoats and to reduce the time and bring efficiency in disbursement.

Director of Education Shailesh Zingde in a circular issued has said that the scheme could not be implemented in the Covid period due to closure of schools that is for academic year 2019-2020 and 2020-2021.

In view of this all the ADEI’s (Adm) in Taluka offices are directed to collect the information from Schools, which will have to be thoroughly checked by the Headmasters of the School concerned.

The headmasters of School should either collect a cancelled cheque or a photo copy of cancelled cheque from respective Parents or Guardians as the case may be and the same should be submitted to in the ADEI’s office for further course of action.

“The Headmaster will be held fully responsible for Authenticity/correctness of the Information submitted by the Primary schools coming under their control,” Zingde said.
