VASCO: Educiana Rodrigues and Pratap Naik were elected unopposed as sarpanch and deputy sarpanch of the Cortalim village panchayat at a special meeting held on Wednesday.
Both the posts were lying vacant after the ouster of sarpanch Senia Pereira and Santan Gama respectively by a no-confidence motion on February 4.
Educiana Rodrigues, Pratap Naik, Raymond D’Sa, Agostinho Menezes, Francisco Mendes, Angela Furtado and Antonio Joao Fernandes were present for the meeting while, four panchayat members Senia Pereira, Santan Gama, Manuel Silva and Anita Kenkre abstained.
Cortalim panchayat secretary Krishna Gaude was also present.
