PONDA: Pondaites on Monday demanded with the Ponda Municipal Council to either repair or install new closed-circuit television (CCTV) surveillance system at the earliest to detect crimes in the town.
With all cameras defunct the CCTV system in the town has just become a show piece, the Pondaites demanded for strict CCTV monitoring.
They said that the PMC should not wait for untoward incident and added saying, “Out of 22 not a single CCTV installed in 2015 is functioning.”
According to the PMC sources, though the council is thinking of installing CCTV system, presently there is fund crunch in the PMC coffer.
