Eknath elected Pilgao panch

Eknath Anant Parab Gaonkar has been elected panch in the bye-elections to Ward 3 of Pilgao Panchayat in Bicholim taluka that went to polls on Sunday.
According to reports, Eknath Gaonkar polled 107 votes, Puja Purushotam Gaonkar polled 67 votes, while Subhash Suresh Phadte polled 53 votes. Four votes were invalid.
It may be recalled that the post of panch in Ward 3 of Pilgao Panchayat had fallen vacant, after Ajay Parab tendered his resignation.
