PANJIM: Stating that elaborate security arrangements are in place for the current festive season across State, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant said that CCTV camera surveillance would be maintained at crowded places.
Speaking to the reporters on Tuesday, Sawant said that he has held meeting of senior officials from Home Department to oversee the preparedness to ensure incident-free New Year festivities.
“Elaborate security arrangements in place between December 25 and 31. Right from traffic perspective to law and order, all the arrangements are in place,” he said.
Sawant said that the CCTV camera surveillance would be maintained at crowded places, while police presence would also be increased to ensure that there are no untoward incidents. Goa is one of the preferred destinations to celebrate New Year, with thousands of foreign and domestic tourists visiting the coastal State during the festive season.
