VASCO: A septuagenarian who was knocked down by a speeding two-wheeler at Verna succumbed to his injuries at the Goa Medical College and Hospital, Bambolim on Thursday night.
The deceased, Antonio Mascarenhas , 73, a cyclist from Shrilim-Verna, was injured after he was knocked down by two-wheeler rider Mohammed Arfan Khan, a resident of Chimbel.
Khan was proceeding towards Margao when he collided with the senior citizen’s cycle. The injured senior citizen was rushed to GMC, but died while undergoing treatment.
The Verna police have registered a case against Khan under Sections 279 and 304 (A) of the IPC.
