MARGAO: Stating that all the blocks in 40 constituencies of Goa will be fully re-constituted by September 20, and election campaigning works will commence from October 1, Congress Central Observer P Chidambaram once again made his stand clear that all the Assembly elections-related decisions will be taken after consulting active members of the party.

He also alleged that the BJP is trying to do homogenisation of country, and engaged in wiping out the history.

Addressing a gathering, here, organised by Margao Block Committee, Chidambaram along with Goa In-Charge Gundu Rao, Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Girish Chodankar, Leader of Opposition and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat and other Congress leaders said that the party has a vision for Goa and in order to implement that the party needs to come back to power. Party’s single goal is to win the 2022 Assembly elections.

Chidambaram appealed to the party workers to divert some time for the party works.

“We made mistakes in 2017 elections but same should not be repeated again. You tell who should be the candidate and how to go ahead to win the elections. Out of 18 elected MLAs, 13 betrayed the voters and workers,” he stated.

Chidambaram said that the BJP is trying to do homogenisation of country with one religion, one culture, one language, etc. And, hence this homogenisation is the biggest threat to the nation. He charged the BJP government both at the Centre and State for adding more troubles in the lives of the people.

Rao in his speech stated that the people-friendly policies will be implemented once Congress comes to power in Goa.

He also charged the BJP for the hike in fuel prices and LPG gas cylinders.

“BJP came to power illegally in the 2017 elections, despite they were rejected by the people,” he alleged.

State President Chodankar stated that as the Right to Information Act from the office of Prime Minister, it has been clearly mentioned that there were no Rs 35 crore scam happened in Goa.

While Kamat charged the BJP government on various issues such as mismanagement at the times of COVID-19, fuel prices and others issues.

“This BJP government has taken Goans to poverty, as they have no concern for the people,” he alleged.
