PANJIM: The Electricity Department on Monday issued notices to cable operators and advertising agencies for utilising electricity poles for fixing of cables and advertising boards for which the permissions have not been granted. However, the department has asked that approval be taken before September 30 to regularise this.
“It has been observed that many cable operators/advertising agencies who are utilising electricity poles for fixing of cables/advertising boards have not taken permission of the Electricity Department. Hence, it is notified that the department will remove the cables and advertising boards tied to the poles if the approval for the same is not taken before September 30, 2017,” states the notice
The notice further states that September 30 is the last date to regularise the illegal acts failing which all such advertising boards/posters/cables/flags displayed/tied on the existing department electrical poles will be removed by the department without any further notice.
