Electricity Dept orders removal of dangerous electric pole stubs

CURCHOREM: The Curchorem Electricity Department has finally taken action to remove the dangerous stubs of old electricity poles that had been posing a threat to motorists and pedestrians alike. OHeraldo highlighted the issue following complaints from citizens, who reported numerous abandoned iron pole pieces and cement muffing lying along the main road near the railway station in the Curchorem market.

This safety hazard arose after the completion of the work on underlying electric cables in Curchorem, where the old iron electric poles along the roads were removed and replaced with new poles with street lights. Unfortunately, during the removal of the old poles, the contractor cut them with a gas cutter and left behind the stubs.
