VASCO: Following a tip off, the Vasco police on Tuesday evening conducted a raid at Joggers Park in Chicalim and caught one electronic engineer from Alto Dabolim and working for Group 4 security services for possessing 270 grams ganja worth Rs 27,000.
Vasco Police Inspector PI Nolasco Raposo said that the accused has been identified as one Vaibhav Naik and has been arrested under NDPS Act. “We have arrested the accused person and we would produce him before JMFC for remand,” Raposo said.
Meanwhile, Chicalim locals, who in the past, had raised serious concerns over the increasing antisocial activities inside the Joggers Park and now with the arrest of Naik locals have demanded that police should intensify patrolling in such public places which are used by some for illegal purpose.
