Elvis features in AAP’s 3rd list

PANJIM: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Tuesday announced a third list of four candidates for the 2017 Goa Assembly elections.

Addressing the media, AAP Goa campaign committee chief Joe Gomes said the decision was taken by AAP’s Parliamentary Affairs Committee (PAC) in New Delhi.
As expected, retired selection grade officer of Goa Civil Services, Elvis Gomes, is set to contest from Cuncolim constituency, which is currently represented by BJP’s Subhash alias Rajan Naik. Gomes is president of Cuncolim Union Club, Director on board of TMCA.
Ravindra Arjun Velip has been fielded by AAP in Sanguem constituency, which is currently represented by BJP candidate Subhash Phaldesai. Velip has participated and led the movement for mining through a co-operative society and is actively involved in working with ST communities for forest rights.
In Porvorim, AAP will field Rajesh Valvaikar who will challenge Independent MLA Rohan Khaunte. Valvaikar is a panchayat member for two terms and also vice-president of youth group of Kharvi Samaj.
Cecille Lee Rodrigues will contest from Taleigao constituency, which is currently represented by Congress’ Jennifer Monserrate. Rodrigues has given many motivational lectures to youth and is a known youth icon. She was also the 1st runner up in a dance reality show ‘Supermoms 2013’.
“This is the third list which AAP has announced making a total of 15 candidates. The fourth list will be released within a week’s time. As of now the probable list has been made,” AAP’s Valmiki Naik said.
