Elvis posted as CCP commissioner

In a major development on the Corporation of City of Panaji (CCP) front, the government today posted Elvis Gomes as the Commissioner in place of Sanjit Rodrigues.
Reports were doing the rounds in CCP that Sanjit would be transferred but there was no confirmation. Sanjit is on leave from July-end. He was given the post of Commissioner less than two months ago, as an additional charge, after Melvyn Vaz was transferred following allegations made by the Opposition. Sanjit will continue to be the Director of Industries with additional charges of managing director of Goa Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) and OSD to the chief minister.
By an order issued today, Gomes is transferred from the post of Director of River Navigation. This will be his second stint as Commissioner of CCP. Nearly two years ago he was the commissioner when the aerobic digester plant for treatment of garbage at Patto was commissioned.
It looked like posting Gomes to CCP was not expected even by the Urban Development Minister Joaquim Alemao. Gomes will have eth additional responsibility of preparing the report on the scams that has hit the corporation. Alemao had said that the report would be ready in three months after which he said he would initiate action against those responsible for the irregularities.
