VASCO: Shantinagar ward councillor on Sunday requested Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant to immediately enforce a lockdown in Vasco as many COVID cases have started detecting outside the containment zone area.
Yatin Kamurlkar said, “Vasco lockdown is needed before it’s too late, one CoVID case was reported in Shantinagar on Sunday and the patient was shifted to CoVID Hospital, Margao.
Addressing media persons, Kamurlkar said, “He received information in the morning that in Shantinagar a CoVID positive case was reported and the patient was immediately shifted to COVID Hospital, Margao.
He mentioned that he immediately contacted DySP Vasco and then the patient’s family has been requested to get themselves quarantined. Arrangements to provide essential items to this family will be made soon.
Kamurlkar said, “In one area at Shantinagar there are three entry and exit points, which have been restricted by placing barricades. Safety is of paramount importance therefore we will take utmost precautions.”
