MAPUSA: The Aldona Block Congress Committee confronted the assistant electric engineer at Mapusa on Saturday over frequent power failures in the constituency.
The confrontation was led by North Goa District President Amarnath Panjikar.
The Congress workers told Assistant Engineer R K Chandan that there have been frequent power failures in Aldona since the past several days, causing severe difficulties to the people in the village.
Later, the Congress workers submitted a memorandum to the assistant engineer demanding an immediate end to the problem.
The Congress workers told Chandan that frequent power failures in Aldona constituency was making the people feel that they are living a backward constituency.
The Congress workers also told the engineer that power shutdowns were arranged without prior notice, which left the people unprepared for the same.
