VASCO: Shinoj Khushwaha, an engineer who left behind his lucrative job to embark on a journey across India to explore various cultures, reached Baina beach on Friday, where he received a warm welcome from local youths on Engineers’ Day.
Khushwaha began his remarkable journey from Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh on October 21 last year. Over the course of a year, he traversed ten Indian States on foot, including Manipur, Nagaland, Himachal Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala before arriving in Goa.
During his journey, Khushwaha has received support from kind-hearted individuals who volunteered to provide him with food, shelter, and even financial assistance when needed. From Baina beach, he plans to visit the Mallikarjun Temple in Canacona, known for its Shisharani festival, where devotees cook food on their heads as an act of devotion.
“I have been on the road for the past 338 days, covering a distance of 6,830 kilometres so far,” said Khushwaha, adding that his incredible journey serves as a personal exploration of India’s diverse cultures and traditions.
Upon completing his visit to all the States, Khushwaha intends to document his experiences and insights in a book, shedding light on the rich tapestry of cultures that define India.
