Enriching the landscape: Forest Dept plants 5,000 saplings across Goa

PONDA: With an objective to restore the degraded forest land by enriching the landscape, the Forest Department in a massive tree plantation drive, planted 5,000 saplings in various villages and municipal areas of the State.

A ceremonial plantation was organised in the forest area at Sirsaim, in association with JCI- Mapusa and NCC unit of G S Amonkar Vidya Mandir School, Mapusa as part of World Environment Day, 2024. 

Goa Forest Department  is making efforts to maintain the saplings on long term basis. Apart from tree plantation programmes, competitions were  organised for school children by each Ranges under various divisions of Goa Forest Department.

The goal was to spread the message of World Environment Day- 2024 across the State.
