Environmental Film Fest to open with ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ today

Two Goan films ‘Saxtticho Koddo’ and ‘Ektha Goan’ to be screened as part of the special Goan section

PANJIM: On the sidelines of the highly anticipated G20 meeting in Goa, the first Goa Environmental Film Festival will kick off at Maquinez Palace, ESG Complex, Panjim at 10:30 am on Saturday.

Academy award-winning ‘The Elephant Whisperers’, as the opening film, will set the tone for the three-day film festival to be inaugurated by Environment Minister Nilesh Cabral.

June 3-5 will see environment studies students, activists and film enthusiasts partake in this film festival that is aimed at raising awareness about environmental issues faced globally. A diverse line-up of over 40 films, including documentaries, narratives, and short films, all focused on environmental themes from all over the world, will be screened. 

Two Goans films ‘Saxtticho Koddo’, directed by Vince Costa and ‘Ek Tha Goan’, by Shrishti Lakhera will be screened, as part of the special Goa section. Spanish film `Alcarass’ by Carla Simon will be the closing film.
